Foundation Recruitment is currently collaborating with one of the key players of the pan-European real estate arena, investing across different countries and asset classes. This organisation is continually growing and is regarded as one the most prominent employers in the industry. Managing a £ 2.5bn debt investment platform, they are currently looking for a Loan Surveillance Manager to join their Debt team, since this division has seen a significant growth over the recent years.

The role

This person will be working with a small but strongly experienced team, assisting them in executing and closing all loan transactions, as well as overseeing all loan administration and portfolio monitoring functions.

  • Work in parallel and delegating to external Loan Services to ensure accuracy of cashflow and interest payments.
  • Review, track and manage all Compliance reporting received on a quarterly basis, including proactively managing the external Loan Services to track down outstanding or late reporting.
  • Monitor borrower/asset/market level performance of existing commercial mortgage investments and generate internal investment summaries and reports with ability to present results. Provide assistance to asset managers with borrower requests.
  • Assist in preparation and review of quarterly reporting matters including the tracking of investments and portfolio management reporting.
  • Collaborate and interact with external clients and internal business partners including Accounting, Valuation, Appraisal, Real Estate Equity, Risk Management and Law.
  • Provide ongoing analysis and research, including creating and updating overview information to evaluate and forecast portfolio investment performance.
  • Support management decision making related to a variety of business activities including through assisting in the development of annual business plans, working on strategic projects, loan sales and modifications and the general provision of research and analytical findings.
  • Manage the consent request process (for leases, insurance renewals, etc.) with Borrowers and the Debt Team.
  • Maintain a complete set of data, documents and records for the loan portfolio.
  • Assist Fund Managers in preparing investor reporting in a timely and accurate basis
  • Comply with governance, committee and risk management processes.

The profile

  • Understanding and application of real estate due diligence and legal documentation requirements in the UK and, preferably, also across European jurisdictions.
  • Commercial acumen, excellent quantitative analysis and Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively and independently with guidance and supervision, yet also work in a team environment.
  • Project management, strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential.
