Arkesden is working with a leading fund with global offices, who are looking to add an individual to their real estate private equity team. The European business focuses on Core + / Value add opportunities in Western Europe. Our client is seeking an associate with 3 - 5 years European investment/asset management experience, proven interest in commercial real estate, structured finance and investments and a strong technical grounding. The candidate will work in a lean team with a broad European mandate to invest capital in single asset and portfolio acquisitions.

Position:

Associate,  European Investments and Asset  Management

 

Our client is seeking an associate with 3 - 5 years  European  investment/asset  management experience,  proven  interest in commercial  real estate, structured finance and investments and a strong technical grounding. The candidate will work in   a lean team with a broad European mandate to invest capital in single asset and portfolio acquisitions. Given the growth of the investment platform in Europe, the level of day one responsibility demands a self-starting  candidate that  is able to work unsupervised with excellent organization skills. The size of the team means that all members are involved in all areas  of the business, including: sourcing, structuring, financing, and asset management; this makes effective team-work and communication  skills essential.

 

Direct responsibilities  will include:

  • Investment underwriting, analysis and preparation of investment committee and management board memoranda
  • Sourcing and  analysing new opportunities
  • Leading due diligence and assisting in financing, structuring and overall execution of transactions while working closely with the funds internal and external legal, tax and accounting teams
  • Strategic review of corporate structure and asset specific holding structures for ongoing optimization as well as consistent  structuring on new transactions
  • Asset Management duties, to include working with the funds operating partners, property managers, offshore managers and the New  York  asset management team.
  • Help to devise and execute  strategy;  hold/sell  analysis, budget and business plan forecasting
  • Reporting on a daily basis to the Head of European  investments

 

The candidate’s  skills, experience and qualifications  will ideally include:

  • 3 years plus post qualification Real Estate  experience
  • Analytical  and financial  modelling skills
  • Property  transaction experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a Fund, Property company or advisor
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong  interpersonal skills
  • Strong  communication skills
