Experienced Search Consultant and senior revenue generator looking to take the lead in new business development in London as well as working closely with our NYC / LA partners supporting their client initiatives in Europe.

Carpenter Farraday are a market leading executive search firm covering Wealth & Asset Management, Alternative Investments and Investment Banking across all key functions in the UK and Europe.  The firm is comprised of experienced markets experts covering their respective sector expertise in great depth. Following a recent partnership with a US based firm, we are now seeking to build out the functions by adding strong Search Consultants to the team covering the following areas:

  • Real estate and/or infrastructure
  • Pensions/ sustainability expert – across AM/ WM/ Alternatives
  • Insurance
  • Financial planning/ IFA

We work with a small number of clients which enables us to gain deep access of their organisational culture and real and perceived strengths and weaknesses.  This in turn enables us to minimise the financial impact and time spent in identifying and securing the best people.  

Based in either London or Brighton you will take the lead in new business development in London as well as working closely with our NYC / LA partners supporting their client initiatives in Europe. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Senior revenue generator without the management responsibility
  • Help in setting recruitment process best practice
  • Negotiate Terms of Business with clients
  • Develop and manage your annual business plan
  • Responsible for developing your network of candidates in your specialist sector
  • Work with your Director to define the sector/team business development strategy
  • Briefing and managing Researchers within your team Lead consultant in major client relationship building activities
  • Managing both contingent and retained search assignments
  • Interviewing, shortlisting and presenting candidates to clients
  • Intermediating on client/candidate compensation negotiations
  • Handling client/candidate feedback
  • Pitching and presenting to clients for high value projects
  • Negotiate contracts and Terms for and on behalf of clients/candidates
  • Attending client meetings

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Outstanding analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent commercial and business sense
  • Expertise in one of the a-forementioned sectors – whether that be in recruitment or working in sales / relationship manager for a service provider in the industry
  • Exceptional and longstanding client and candidate relationships within your field of expertise
  • Strong track record in revenue generation and overacheiving budgets
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • Fluency in other European languages highly advantageous
