A growing and reputable Investment Bank are looking for an exemplary Reference Data Manager with a minimum of 5 years' direct management experience in a high volume and time-pressured environment. The successful candidate will proactively manage the department to ensure that it meets its mandated reporting, control and management objectives whilst ensuring that the department manages its client data by applying and maintaining adequate and sustainable controls commensurate with internal and external requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Day-to-day management of referential data function; specifically, the prioritization and coordination of stakeholder requests in accordance with agreed SLA's and key indicators.
* Ensuring all priority work is completed to same day SLAs.
* Ensuring all functional controls are applied in accordance with agreed frequencies (24hr, 48hr, weekly, monthly) and evidence of control having been performed is recorded and retained as an auditable paper trail.
* Ensuring all functional documentation is kept updated to a high standard and correctly describes the processes and controls performed by the CRD function. All documentation to be immediately retrievable from dedicated document library on departmental SharePoint site
* All requests for work and queries are completed in line with agreed indicator targets and SLA's.
* Defining the quality benchmarks for the CRD function, ensuring that all work is performed to a suitably high standard and performance or quality dips are recorded, and training or PI plans put in place.
* 4-eye QA is always performed to the highest standards and operated as an effective first line of defence.
* Managing escalations to senior management, stakeholder complaints and requesting prioritisation when deadlines are conflicting and indicator targets potentially to be missed.
* Ensuring all risk incidents are documented within initial 48hr window without exception and discussed with senior management prior to submission.
* Ensuring monthly submission of functional SLA performance data is accurate and timely and any commentary relating to missed objectives to be first agreed with senior management.
* Develop rolling program of control assurance over key Client data reconciliations, returns and processes.
* Ensure that controls are maintained and developed as necessary to provide, assurance, analysis, explanation and evidence of Client Data. Ensure that all non-standard data reconciliation processes are understood and documented.
* Prepare client data reviews and ensure that any issues or challenges are communicated to management team.
* Ensure department has effective controls in place sufficient to support and explain client data status to various committees, Board, senior management, front office and other key stakeholders e.g. Group and internal Audit.
* Set high and exacting quality standards for all of own and team's work. Ensure that QA and controls are applied to a consistently high level.
* Proactively assess control and process change implications {for Client Data} of various internal and external projects.
* Support line reporting and project teams to drive best practice and build/maintain an adequate control environment that is consistent with complementary to other control processes and functions e.g. Risk, Compliance, Finance.
* Deliver improvements to the process efficiency and control effectiveness about the processes used for Client Data lifecycle management and use management information to report changes to key control, risk and performance indicators.

Knowledge, Technical Skills and Expertise:

* Skilled knowledge preferably in reference data but candidates possessing knowledge within instrument data will also be considered.
* Deep-seated knowledge of legal entities and best practice acquired in a similar or supporting function.
* Knowledge of Investment Banking support functions (payments, settlements etc)
* Experienced Manager with a track record of leading, developing and growing teams.
* Financial services, background with experience of financial data systems.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Able to identify deficient processes/controls and drive through enhancements to resolution.
