GBM Client Management Group's objective is to provide Global Banking and Markets with a single, client lifecycle management service that uses operating principles and a consistent service proposition to deliver high-quality client service, robust client diligence, and process excellence and standardisation across each onboarding function from one integrated global team

The objective of the role is to be the owner of all operational regulatory activities that impact GBM CMG and ensure operational delivery to the GBM Regulatory Transformation Programme.

The role is directly accountable for regulatory operational readiness in Europe and responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of all regulatory and compliance operational matters for GBM Onboarding & coordinate front to back across functions.
  • Responsible for operational delivery of regulatory programmes inclusive of MiFID2, DFA, EMIR, FATCA, Global Standards, Client Consent, and any future regulations as defined by the Regulatory Transformation Programme
  • Drive the review, communication and implementation of operational regulatory requirements which impact the GBM CMG business
  • Assess RBS involvement in regulatory change programmes, identify where action is required and develop plans to drive implementation in conjunction with project teams and CTB leads
  • Define the approach to managing regulatory change programmes which impact run the bank CMG including tools and MI to track progress and key milestones
  • Plan, resource and lead Regulatory Remediation Teams in servicing GBM and CMB across EMEA to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Act as key stakeholder in internal and external regional Project Steering Committees
  • Ensure consistency across all GBM CMG sites and provide leadership to regional owners. Responsible for regulatory impacts of GBM CMG service expansion.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Broad overall understanding of the full investment banking value chain and the context within which GBM CMG operates
  • Exceptional organizational, planning and management skills
  • Good commercial and financial management ability with a proven track record and experience in a shared service model
  • Good overall knowledge of the Client interface / onboarding and associated processes within an investment bank
  • A delivery-focused with a strong risk and control mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain global and regional relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Good business and operational experience - good candidates are likely to have strong relationship management or operational management skills
  • Strong client facing and leadership skills with the capability to develop the solutions driven, high energy characteristics necessary to support the needs of the Business and the new Regulatory operating model
  • Solid and broad experience of working at a senior level with large multi-project and multi-stakeholder programmes in an international investment bank
