Whilst we are looking for a junior, the role is stand-alone and comes with incredible responsibility and autonomy for this multi-billion dollar AUM business. In its simplest sense, the hire will be the main point of contact for and managing relationships with data and research vendors (acting as a middleman between the service providers and internal teams). The hire will look to centralise the procurement process (across a wide variety of service providers). The firm are looking to partner with service providers, rather than just use them ad-hoc on individual agreements – the hire will negotiate contracts on behalf of the business, across many data/research vendors. The hire will regularly act on requests from the investment desk; analysing vendors in specific regions, producing vendor shortlists with critical analysis on the firms and costs involved – presenting this information with recommendations to investment desk heads/business partners. The hire would also be in control of negotiating contractual agreements with chosen vendors + overseeing onboarding (sitting between the front office and in-house data engineers). Internally, this is a role that will closely expose the hire to the investment and quant teams & will also allow close association with legal, compliance and risk business heads.
Candidates should have a solid academic record, ideally with a relevant degree from a high-ranking university. We are flexible on level of experience, but prefer to hire a junior looking to move in to the hedge fund space. We are focused on hiring an individual with strong relationship management skills, with great exposure to banking, ideally hedge funds. Any experience negotiating contracts would be useful. The role certainly requires someone with a dynamic & energetic personality, possessing an entrepreneurial approach and ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
The role has flexibility on base salary, to offer the chosen candidate an attractive step up on what they currently earn. The role can offer a large % of base salary as a bonus (star junior performers in other support areas at the firm earn up to 100%).
