You will join a leading energy equity research team with a broad coverage universe of stocks. Combined the energy team covers 30 stocks across EMEA and the US. Your role is to support and develop the research of the Integrated Oil, E&P and Oilfield Services sectors and contribute to the group’s stock coverage responsibilities and global industry views.

Role

Your role is to support and develop the research of the Integrated Oil, E&P and Oilfield Services sectors and contribute to the group’s stock coverage responsibilities and global industry views.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are:

  • Support the lead analyst in fundamental research to service institutional investors with sufficient intensity to drive vote capture
  • Support the interface with the Investment Bank and Corporate Broking
  • Analyse company financial results and model estimated future results
  • Contribute written work to the European Oil & Gas team thematic and stock specific research
  • Assist the team in meeting client marketing and corporate access requirements


Person Specification

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

  • Requirements: a strong academic background with degree, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the drive and determination to excel
  • Either an industry or financial/research background will be considered
  • Experience in the energy sector in either finance/accounting or commercial roles is an advantage
  • Experience in equity markets regardless of industry sector is an advantage
  • Advanced Excel skills are a pre-requisite

Desired Experience / Skills

  • Knowledge of financial markets
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite
  • FCA certification or completion of such within 3 months of employment
