Another area of focus will be data integrity including reconciliations between data sources as well as creation of reports to capture and automate these processes going forward.

Team

Risk Operations is responsible for overseeing risk processing, generating current risk reports and developing new ones in response to emerging businesses and risks.  This is done through careful planning and working closely with other members of the risk management team.  In this way, Risk operations ensures risk is captured and reported in a controlled manner, delivering risk reports of high quality based on good design and strong data integrity.

Role

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are:

  • Daily risk report production, verification and distribution
  • Designing new end to end processes from scratch
    • requirements and data gathering from various stakeholders within the firm
    • agreeing timelines and SLA’s
    • developing controls for the process
    • developing MI catering to Risk Managers and Senior Management
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects pertaining to risk, risk statistics, trading activities, risk monitoring and other initiatives
  • Design and maintain controls for processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of data and processes.
  • Design and perform reconciliation of data from multiple sources to ensure quality and coverage of positions.
  • Guide Risk IT resources through projects to achieve the desired end results for Risk.
  • Interface efficiently with third party risk systems such as Risk Metrics and Calypso to execute and improve daily functions
  • Liaise with Risk IT and Risk Infrastructure to resolve daily and strategic issues.
  • Design and maintain periodic/ad-hoc Risk presentations
  • Investigate changes in daily risk measures (VaR, sensitivities, stress, etc)
  • Assist market risk managers in performing ad-hoc risk analysis
  • Increase automation of existing reporting routines


Person Specification

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

Technical Skills

  • Degree educated in a quantitative discipline: Financial Engineering, Information Technology, Computer, Mathematics, Science or Finance
  • Knowledge/ability to construct, develop and maintain tactical tools from scratch
  • Advanced Excel & VBA skills
  • Good Microsoft Access & VBA skills
  • Experience of writing Excel add-ins (XLA) and libraries (XLL)
  • Experience of creating SharePoint solutions including multilevel workflows and input forms connected to DB.
  • Good understanding of OLAP cubes and the functionality.
  • Experience of using OLAP cubes for reporting.
  • Experience of working with large datasets and manipulation of data in Excel
  • Intermediate SQL & understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
  • Conceptual understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience of Agile / SCRUM methodologies.
  • Good Microsoft Power Point skills
  • Ability to navigate systems, access data and identify discrepancies

The candidates may be required to take an SQL/VBA test
