The role will be to help support a team of 14 analysts within Fixed Income, covering the Asset Backed Securities sector. The role has three primary areas of focus working independently and with senior analysts on primary and secondary investment opportunities, helping with the on-going monitoring of the ABS portfolio and delivering required internal and external reporting .

The scope of the work will involve both public and private transactions covering sectors such as, (but not limited to), RMBS, other consumer and commercial receivables, and structured credit transactions. For the right candidate there will be significant opportunities to develop a deep understanding of these asset classes and develop sector expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior analysts in performing detailed credit, ESG and regulatory analysis across both primary and secondary securitisation transactions - both public and private transactions.
  • Analysing / reviewing deal documentation and assessing the operational risks of underwriting and servicing counterparties.
  • Financial modelling on individual companies and financial instruments.
  • Participating in new issue roadshows and due diligence.
  • Preparing rating proposals / reviews and periodic reporting on transactions.
  • Maintain surveillance and monitoring information for the ABS portfolio.
  • Working on or refining credit methodologies on new esoteric asset classes.
  • Assisting in corporate actions on ABS instruments and liaising with analysts and fund managers.
  • Liaise with other members of the Fixed Income department to ensure knowledge is shared across teams.
  • Represent the team on internal committees.
  • Act as back up to fellow analysts where necessary.

Job & Personal Skills:

This role is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience of bond pricing and financial analysis
  • Strong mathematical and advanced excel skills
  • Attention to detail in both verbal and numerical work
  • Ability to manage large volume of data while maintaining focus on key issues
  • Proactive and creative approach to solving problems with methodical and reliable output
  • A strong work ethic with a team focussed approach
  • Good communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage own workload without direct supervision to ensure deadlines are met
  • Understanding of accounting principles and concepts

Knowledge & Experience
  • 2-4 years experience
  • Understanding of accounting principles and concepts
  • Some knowledge of economics, either through formal study or personal interest
  • Knowledge of advanced excel
