The Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) function was created in 2020 through the combination of previously separate Risk and Compliance functions, to further enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our control environment amid stricter regulatory frameworks. The responsibilities of CRCO include Risk, ranging from Enterprise Risk management to risk and finance reporting, and regional risk teams covering the risk management for our entities, and Compliance, focused on achieving professional excellence by providing state of the art technology, strengthening surveillance and testing processes and by aligning controls to keep risk within appetite. You will provide specialist advice and analysis in relation to all issues relating to anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) providing subject matter expertise and guidance as well as interaction with the global ABC function and oversight of the ABC control framework. You will coordinate closely with the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Advisory Teams to ensure that consistent advice and analysis of complex ABC issues are appropriately controlled and ensuring that the UK aligns with global standards and have responsibility for assisting and advising regional EMEA offices.

The role will be at Vice President level and will be responsible for managing one ABC Team member.

This to include (but not limited to):

  • Providing advice and guidance on ABC matters referred by the FCC Advisory teams, business and support functions.
  • Dealing with significant complex ABC issues, referred by advisory teams, requiring detailed analysis and/or external legal advice/interaction with regulators etc.
  • Proactive advice to the advisory teams and the business regarding ABC legislation and global requirements.
  • Oversight of ABC-related language, reps and warranties in contractual documentation.
  • Delivering targeted face to face training on ABC related topics.
  • Liaising with Global function to ensure that controls and procedures in the UK and EMEA regional offices adhere to global framework and to maintain awareness of ABC threats and risks.
  • Managing the risk of third-party intermediaries via close coordination with businesses seeking to engage introducers.
  • Ensuring by testing and review that the ABC control framework is robust and operating effectively.

This role is open to discussion regarding flexible / agile working.

You Offer

Significant experience working in an ABC or similar financial crime position at a financial institution. Preferably be educated to degree level or have an appropriate Financial Crime Compliance qualification such as an ICA Diploma in Financial Crime or equivalent work experience. Ability to coordinate with the Financial Crime Compliance Advisory Team Heads and senior partners in the business divisions. You will be expected to provide credible challenge to the business. Some experience in managing people would be preferred but not essential. Results-oriented, hardworking individual with outstanding problem solving, interpersonal skills. Possess excellent attention to details.
