Description of the Business Line or Department

SBO WM provides outsourced back office operations for wealth managers. The service includes trade support, cash management, reconciliations and corporate actions.

The corporate action section encompasses end to end processing of global corporate actions, global income payments, US and UK tax reporting and proxy voting.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • Responsible for all output from the COAC section -

    • Checking analysts files during the various states of processing, including final closure, ensuring book cost apportionment has been calculated and processed correctly.
    • Ensuring event notifications and outruns are issued/processed in line with written procedures, SLAs and regulatory requirements.
    • Checking daily income processing

  • Responsible for ensuring the sections critical functions are completed each day.
  • Assist analysts with daily workload when volumes require.
  • Provide training and assistance and act as the escalation point for issues or concerns raised by COAC/Income analysts.
  • Substitute for the COAC Supervisor as necessary .
    Summary of responsibilities

  • Review and sign off of all COAC events including cash write-offs, FX requests and COAC related trade instructions.
  • Authorisation/issuance of COAC instructions to agent/depository.
  • Maintain overview of daily income processing including daily review of unposted dividend report.
  • Maintenance of COAC diary.
  • Review and sign-off Daily Task Sheets
  • System/template testing.
  • Maintain written procedures.
  • Preparation of monthly statistics
  • Assisting with Global COAC processing where required.

  • Level of Autonomy and Authority

    Primary authoriser for all daily COAC/Income items including *cash write-offs, FX requests and COAC related trade instructions.

    Income write-offs outside of the calculated acceptable level to be verified by the COAC Supervisor and Operations Manager.
