Team Profile:

Morgan Stanley’s Algorithmic Trading Technology team develops and maintains trading execution engines. The trading engines include strategies that perform benchmark execution, low latency liquidity seeking and internalization across multiple asset classes inclusive of Equities, Options, Futures, and FX. The team is responsible for the full software life cycle of these systems. The team is global with significant sized teams in Europe, Asia and North America.

We work closely with our business partners in Sales and Trading, Risk Management, Compliance, Operations and other technology teams to build market leading and innovative strategies.

Role Profile:

The role combines solving complex business and technical problems. The business problem focuses on how to provide an implementation for a specific execution strategy. The technical solutions have to be low latency, high throughput, scalable and well tested.

We are looking for a senior developer with strong leadership skills who can both actively contribute the development of the trading engines and mentor junior members to help them reach their full potential. The candidate should be comfortable communicating to all technical backgrounds and senior management.


Required Skills:

  • Strong technical background in front office software development.
  • Experience building low latency trading engines and algorithms ideally C++ on a Unix/Linux platform
  • Strong data skills (capture, manipulation and presentation)
  • Scripting Python/Perl

  • Understanding of the European equity market structure. FIX
  • Delivery/Project management experience
  • FIX protocol
