A world leading boutique trading firm are looking to add to their team. This particular role spans two vital functions of the Finance function: Financial reporting and control: ensuring high quality financial reporting and safeguarding the integrity of the financial ledgers of the firm Management information and analysis: building and leveraging a deep understanding of the firm’s business to help prepare insights to inform business decisions
Responsibilities
Analysis of the trial balance and ledger accounts, including variance, trend analysis and commentaries
Month-end close: revenue, expenses and balance sheet
Monthly and quarterly entity specific and consolidated group reporting
Preparing and posting accounting journals for yet-to-be automated processes / processes whose complexity necessities direct human involvement in posting
Preparation of all balance sheet reconciliations
Key liaison with external auditors for annual/interim audits and preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS
Preparation and communication of monthly MI required for prime brokers
Accounting and reconciliation of VAT liability
Help resolving accounts payable queries (as required)
Management fee calculations and intercompany re-charges
Detailed cost analysis and reporting, with a focus on execution and clearing, technology and infrastructure, professional fees, T&E and office spend
Leveraging on technology to improve the above processes and controls
Requirements
Strong academics including degree from leading university in subject demonstrating analytical thinking and technology skills
Newly qualified Accountant with up to 3 years PQE (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Good conceptual understanding of technical accounting / IFRS
Understanding of the mechanics and purpose of finance processes and reporting
