This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the new Data Governance and Strategy team at Janus Henderson Investors. You will work closely with multiple functional groups across several lines of business, to drive the development and management of strategic goals and objectives for all divisions of the firm, with a strong focus on the Distribution, Product & Marketing departments. You will be accountable for best practices for Master Data Management, establishing the governance model, business rules and data requirements that align with each department’s goal.

The Data Governance and Strategy (DGS) organisation champions the value of data as a driver of business results. Within DGS, the Data Governance team is accountable for:

- Developing and implementing appropriate data governance policies and ensuring compliance
- Focusing on driving the business and IT organizations to deliver data solutions that balance the needs for operational efficiency and innovative analytics
- Handling the building of strategic solutions including business rules, transformation logic, entity definition and relationships
- Promoting and maintaining master data vision
- Staying abreast of industry trends

- Deploying data and insights into our investment processes, and to better serve our clients

Overview of the Role

You will work closely with multiple functional groups across several lines of business, to drive the development and management of strategic goals and objectives for all divisions of the firm, with a strong focus on the Distribution, Product & Marketing departments. You will be accountable for best practices for Master Data Management, establishing the governance model, business rules and data requirements that align with each department’s goal.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will:
• Define a process and team to establish Data Governance of product and client data for the company supporting operational and analytical capabilities
• Collaborate with technology and business units to drive the definition, prioritisation and implementation of data initiatives
• Design documentation and deploying consistent enterprise-wide data definitions, processes and ownership
• Define and report on key metrics related to quality of product and client data
• Lead quality efforts to ensure improving quality of product and client data
• Develop effective relationships with business areas to oversee the delivery of product and client data-related services to them
• Partner in the development of Data Management standards as needed to effectively lead product and client data
• Consult on projects and providing training and education to business and IT
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of Distribution models in the Asset Management industry
• Establish a culture of analytics and using new technologies to support business expansion
• Carry out additional duties as assigned

Technical Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, business administration, statistics or computer science (or similar)
• Strong analytics background
• Significant data management experience within a buy side firm
• Comprehensive knowledge of data governance practices and processes
• Expertise in Distribution and Marketing of Mutual Funds and other Investment vehicles
