Senior Manager UK Financial Reporting

Strategy

  • Provide accounting and financial control for the UK non-performing loan book. Work with Risk and Group Special Asset Management to address accounting and booking issues associated with sale, unwind and conversion of non-performing loans.
  • Support major projects including the roll out of the new ledger (ASPIRE) and the UK balance sheet substantiation project.
  • The subject matter expert for IFRS 9, including sign off for all impairment related schedules within the IFRS pack. Provide guidance to Senior Management within finance on the UK impairment numbers and deal directly with the Country Risk Officer

Business

  • Manage finance sign off for new and amendment products for all European countries and businesses.

Processes

  • Undertake and improve processes for analysis of P&L and Balance sheet variances as part of the quarterly CFO/CEO pack and to answer group queries on IFRS schedules.
  • Manage the Financial Control and reporting for the UK Private Bank, supporting key contacts in compliance, risk and the business.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity and timely submission of all IFRS pack reporting using UK general ledgers as source.

People and Talent

  • Manage output of offshore team in Group Financial Services, to deliver efficiencies and greater standardisation of processes.
  • Build strong relations with Group Finance to facilitate effective reporting and enable UK Finance to participate in and drive Group wide finance initiatives.

Risk Management

  • Oversight of ECL provisioning and embedding the automated IFRS reporting processes.
  • Provide input into the FORTM for control risks within the Finance reporting team. Attend the FORTM on behalf of the Head of Financial Reporting when required.

Governance

  • Undertake monthly Financial control responsibilities such as Operational Risk testing, sign off balance sheet substantiation (FCS) and intercompany. Drive improvements to the control environment through rigorous challenge of policy and controls.
  • Provide support to the operations team on substantiation and review control processes within operations.

  • Help lead the UK Financial Reporting team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
