Senior Operations Analyst – Trading Desk - $1bn AUM Hedge Fund – 60-80k base + up to 100% bonus
London, England, United Kingdom
A rapidly expanding hedge fund, that recently surpassed $1bn AUM, are looking to make a newly created investment desk support hire.
You will sit on the trading desk, alongside the traders, in a small support team that have a broad remit. The firm operate with a flat structure and limited autonomy, so the hire should expect to be in a highly visible and accountable role from day one. Whilst the remit will include operational duties, those tasks will be spread across the small team that you’ll be working with. The core remit of the role extends to risk management, treasury and product control (pricing, P&L analysis, valuations) responsibilities. Desk assistant duties range from handling trade bookings, to overseeing execution and working on ad-hoc trader requests and/or projects. You will work with a close proximity to the Portfolio Managers. The firm have always hired a high calibre of individual, with senior management / partners typically all coming from Investment Bank MD roles or top level management roles at competitor multi-billion dollar hedge funds. Essentially the hire should see this as a role that offers job security, an opportunity to work with / closely learn from the very best in the business and to be open to varied progression opportunities as the firm chase their goal of amassing a $5bn AUM.
As the remit has such broad coverage, we need to hire somebody suitably qualified, so we can only consider candidates with a strong level of hedge fund experience. Most likely you will have worked in an operations, MO or Trader Assistant capacity for 3-10yrs. You should have broad derivatives knowledge and a real passion for financial markets.
My client is ideally looking to cap the base salary at 80k (if they hire at a more senior experience level). If the fund continue to perform exceptionally well and the hire does so too, I'm told that you can expect a 50-100% bonus. The variable within that banding and below is dependant mainly on individual performance, but of course the fund performance too.
