The Role:

To take responsibility and leadership for large scale Institutional RFPs whilst providing leadership and responsibility for junior team members.

Key Work Level Accountabilities:

Experienced Colleague:
  • Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
  • For team leaders, accountable for ensuring the team the role supports is delivering a quality service or product
  • Works within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems
  • Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them
  • Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Responsible leading and delivering complex and high priority RFPs and DDQs on M&G funds to our prospects and clients accurately and on time
  • Proactively contributes to the overall team strategy
  • Working with junior members of the team to oversee and ensure high quality and timely responses to RFPs, DDQs, RFIs, Surveys and Awards Submissions
  • Ensure that team processes and procedures are adhered to
  • Assists in the training of new team members on M&G funds/systems/processes
  • Takes on responsibility for the active development of RFP origination - assisting stakeholders in assessing the suitability of M&G investment capabilities for certain mandates
  • Develop relationships with Global Country Heads, understanding their focus areas for the year ahead and look to tender for specific RFPs to maximise distribution efforts
  • Keen to further develop knowledge of funds, investment more widely and the markets in which our managers invest
  • Motivated to learn about the needs of our clients - be they internal M&G stakeholders or the investors in our funds
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Ideally, you will have several years of experience of working in asset management in an RFP role with leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income and Alternative Credit asset classes is desirable
  • Ability to demonstrate track record in improving RFP processes and content
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members
  • Knowledge of RFP Q&A databases preferred
  • Understands the needs of Investors
  • Achieved or working towards completion the IMC qualification
  • Proficient in the MS Office suites (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to build good working relationships
  • Willingness to learn about investment
  • Ability to write for multiple audiences
  • Organised and methodical approach to tasks
  • Ability to manage and control multiple priorities and competing deadlines
