Senior Real Estate Fund Accountant

Responsible for providing Fund Service's support as well as assisting the Fund Accounting Manager and Head of Real Estate Fund Accounting to implement policies and procedures required in order to achieve the wider objectives and goals of UK Fund Services.   Key duties   •

Responsible for providing Fund Service's support as well as assisting the Fund Accounting Manager and Head of Real Estate Fund Accounting to implement policies and procedures required in order to achieve the wider objectives and goals of UK Fund Services.
 
Key duties
 
• To provide day-to-day Fund Services support;
• To liaise with other operational areas, internal clients and external parties on matters relating to day-to-day operations;
• To assist the Fund Accounting Manager and Head of Real Estate Fund Accounting in providing guidance and supervision to all team members;
• To assist the Fund Accounting Manager and Head of Real Estate Fund Accounting through implementing changes to working practices and procedures so as to improve both individual and team performance, efficiency and reduce operational risk;
• To build and develop good working relationships between the team and its internal/external clients and suppliers;
• To liaise with operational areas and external parties in undertaking the above;
• To report on and escalate issues or problems which fall outside agreed service standards; and
• To develop a good understanding of all role requirements.
 
Responsibility
 
• To produce audited accounts under FRS102, Board papers, NAV calculations, income distribution calculations, income tax and VAT returns for UK and Jersey institutional Funds where required;
• For the creation and provision of specific significant area(s) of regulatory/compliance information; and
• For the refinement of existing procedures/practices and processes.
 
Knowledge
 
• Typical educational requirement: ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent;
• To be fully conversant with all major aspects of the Real Estate investment industry and within the specific field of financial services operations; and
• Would be in a position to provide advice and guidance to more junior members of staff.
 
Intellectual demands
 
• The role is prescribed within a well established framework. However, the role holder is expected to play an active part in improving day-to-day procedures and how workload is to be tackled.
• Responsible for planning own workload typically against a background of changing priorities and /or external events for the month ahead

 

Communication

 

• Must possess strong interpersonal and written skills and have the ability to explain involved concepts in a clear and concise manner to others within the organisation
• Have regular and routine contact with clients/other external to Schroders.
