An opportunity to play your part - Ready to bring your energy trading knowledge and analytical thinking together? As our Senior Structured Trading Business Analyst at Centrica Energy, you'll play an important role in shaping the ETRM solutions that support our gas, power and LNG trading business. Working across front, middle and back office, you'll get under the skin of complex business requirements, translate them into effective solutions and collaborate with the Programme Manager and delivery teams to keep things moving. It's a great opportunity to combine deep trading lifecycle knowledge with Agile ways of working and help deliver technology that performs when it matters.




The Day to day -

• Take a hands-on approach to analysing business processes and shaping effective Risk and Valuation solutions.


• Build strong, collaborative relationships with business owners and key stakeholders, becoming a trusted partner across the business.


• Translate business needs into clear, accurate and testable requirements, ensuring agreed design principles and standards are maintained.


• Deliver high-quality analysis and fit-for-purpose solutions on time, with future support and change in mind.


• Champion effective change control, version control and configuration management, helping protect the stability of production services.


• Proactively monitor progress, tackle challenges and escalate risks or issues where appropriate, while ensuring compliance with governance and security requirements.


• Bring learning into future delivery through retrospectives, while staying up to date with industry trends and relevant technology developments.

What does great look like ?

• Strong Business Analysis experience, with a proven track record of supporting the development and delivery of complex enterprise applications.


• Solid experience working with Risk and Valuation systems within banking, financial services, energy or commodity trading environments.


• Highly motivated, detail-oriented and comfortable working at pace while maintaining a sharp focus on quality.


• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from analysis and testing through to documentation, implementation and release.


• Confident working with technical and business teams to turn complex requirements into clear, practical and effective solutions.


• Experience supporting high-quality solutions across large, distributed platforms, applying modern architectural principles and best practice.


• A collaborative mindset, bringing energy, curiosity and a hands-on approach to solving problems and getting great outcomes.
