Shipping Finance – Technical Expert
An opportunity for a Technical Shipping Specialist with a deep understanding of ships, ship trading dynamics and major industry trends.
You will join our Shipping Finance business as a [Manager / Senior Manager] and be responsible for all aspects of the business regarding the trading and technical assessment of the ships financed, including undertaking detailed due diligence on the ships and shipowners and preparing comprehensive reporting materials.
As the technical expert, you will stay abreast of important industry trends and drive associated business development projects, including in relation to efforts to reduce carbon and greenhouse gas emissions, environmentally friendly recycling and other initiatives on clean and sustainable shipping. You will be responsible for educating and briefing internal stakeholders on developments in the industry and formulating business processes and strategy improvements. We are looking for the following experience / attributes:
- Strong engineering and technical expertise in ship operations, including experience in shipping companies and industry related roles.
- Ability to review ships in context of CII, EXXI and EEDI.
- Ability to assess the relative commercial and technical attractiveness of different ships types, ship specifications and components.
- Desire for continued development and remaining current in all aspects of the shipping markets, including understanding latest technology, regulatory and market developments.
- Strong project management skills, ability to work towards tight deadlines and to own and drive business development projects.
- MS Office proficiency, attention to detail and aptitude for written internal reporting for key stakeholders within a corporate environment.
- Excellent network of relevant industry contacts.
