THE ROLE

 

The EMEA Finance team aims to be a strategic advisor in achieving Silicon Valley Bank’s overall vision to be the most sought after financial partner helping innovators, enterprises and their investors move bold ideas forward fast, supporting all of the Management information (“MI”), business analysis, financial reporting, Financial Control, Treasury and Tax activity for the EMEA division of SVB.

 

This will be done by delivering greater insights to support decision making and set strategy to protect our business and deliver smart growth. Working within the EMEA Finance team and supporting a number of business and functional teams, this broad Senior Business Partner role is critical in delivery of finance goals and priorities and in supporting business decisions and driving smart growth.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Senior Business Partner will focus on supporting product and business teams in all aspects of reporting and MI, financial management, budgeting and forecasting and delivery of strategic business projects. This is a broad role and key responsibilities will include:  

 
  • Acting as a business partner to improve understanding of business performance through enhanced segment, product and operational MI that considers the drivers and profitability of business activity and results
  • Driving better business decisions and business performance management through focused MI
  • Providing high quality insights & constructive challenge; support and partner with product and business teams
  • Supporting development, production and right shoring of additional reports and MI arising from subsidiarization of UK Branch (UK Entity Reporting) including reporting of new capital, liquidity and returns metrics
  • Leading continued development and right shoring of product and segment MI,  
  • Developing investment appraisal and benefit tracking framework
  • Supporting strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting process
  • Managing, coaching and developing of new GDC resources
  • Continue to look for ways to re-engineer, automate and right-shore finance processes and operating model

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Understanding of UK banking environment and key performance and return metrics
  • Business Partnering and ability to engage with a broad group of stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
  • Accounting qualification preferred
  • An ability to work independently in completing assigned duties
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of SVB’s bank operations and products.
