We are working with an elite fund looking to add to their nascent systematic team in London by hiring senior quantitative researchers to generate alpha signals within a team. The fund is a collegiate set up with a collaborative culture and blended approach combining systematic and discretionary trading. This would suit a quant researcher with an excellent technical background and a track record generating systematic alpha within liquid markets who is keen to take on significant ownership in a team based set up at a top tier macro fund.

This role will focus on researching a range of markets and products to generate successful signals. The team prioritising finding candidates who combine high performance with low ego and a collaborative mindset. The role will involve working closely with a range of senior stakeholders, so as well as excellent technical ability there is a need for strong communication skills.

The team is already active but are keen to add someone who has leadership experience as they are looking to build a signficant business over the next 18 months. As such, there is open mindedness on trade time horizon, market focus (Macro and Equities are of particular interest) and products traded. There are clear plans for growth within this business, so it is an exciting time to join. The fund is a global name and so this opportunity combines the upside of joining a new team and helping to build it out with being part of a very established wider business.

As the team operate with a flat hierarchy, they would consider candidates at a range of experience levels over the next 12 months, though the immediate priority is to hire people who are able to mentor and lead junior researchers.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years’ experience working on systematic strategies at a top tier institution
  • Masters/PhD from Top Tier University in highly quantitative subject
  • Ambitious and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to work in a collegiate team centred environment
