A FTSE 250 business is looking to recruit a Tax Manager to join their London office.

A FTSE 250 business is looking to recruit a Tax Manager to join their London office.



  • Monitoring the statutory obligations and reporting requirements for tax purposes to ensure submissions of accurate and timely tax returns to the relevant authorities (mainly UK group and Real Estate portfolio) including through liaison with non-UK and UK outsourced service providers.
  • Dealing professionally with tax authority enquiries, liaising with external advisors where necessary.
  • Managing the year end and quarterly reporting for tax provisions in consolidated and individual statutory accounts, linking in with outsourced tax compliance service provider.
  • Assisting the Head of Tax in ensuring the transfer pricing policies are appropriate.
  • Ensuring that any PAYE settlement agreements are filed annually for relevant entities.
  • Reviewing of CIS returns prepared by Real Estate Finance team.

Advisory and planning

  • Tax related advice to the international business of the group and its business units.
  • In addition, pro-actively manage the tax relationship with third party advisers and work with the Head of Tax to identify when external tax advice is required.
  • Assisting the Head of Tax in preparation of materials for reporting to the Board, Group and Regional Executives on the tax implications of current or proposed investment structures and real estate/ corporate transactions.
  • Providing tax technical and project support for Real Estate projects.
  • Advising from time to time on employee taxes when requested by HR.
  • Managing work undertaken by external advisors in connection with specific projects.
  • Advising on acquisitions and disposals of investments and assets

Other responsibilities

  • Making suggestions to the Head of Tax to improve operational effectiveness and consistency through process, technology and/or people capability development
  • Working collaboratively within the broader Finance team to deliver high quality outputs in the most effective ways.
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant areas of tax law and practice. Assist in raising tax knowledge and awareness amongst all relevant employees of the group.
  • Compliance with FCA regulations as may apply to the Tax Department.
  • Consideration of fees appropriate for external advice and making recommendations to the Head of Tax.
  • Adhere to the FCA's Conduct Rules, understanding that they set basic standards of good personal conduct.


  • Qualified tax professional (ACCA/ACA/CTA/ATT)
  • Corporate Tax experience
  • Proven track record in meeting tax compliance obligations and supporting a wide range of stakeholders in tax advisory matters.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
