Mission of GCC Branches ICT Support


The team managing the global platform core banking system for 12 CIB branches of UniCredit Bank SpA and AG, the core team is located in London and Bucharest. Coordination of the IT architectural evolution of CIB Foreign Branches, servicing various local and global business lines and functions (eg GTB, Markets, CFO, Compliance).

The delivery Unit is included in the Area of International Network inside CIO CIB and responsible for core banking platform providing accounting, payments, settlements, cash management and Regulatory Reporting integrated to various systems for payments, lending and markets products.

Job Purpose/Summary:

Leading the functional, technical and architectural evolution of the applications of GCC Branches ICT Support with key priority on further improvement/ integration of FusionBanking Midas global core banking platform.

The activities in this area include keeping all applications up and running according to SLAs (and further streamlining continuous optimization) while ensuring the timely delivery of diverse business and IT driven projects/ programs.

The person will be reference point of Hardware solutions and implementation of Security requirements in line with Group policies and tools (Change Management and Incident Management).

The delivery activities for the applications of GCC Branches ICT Support, including FBMidas core banking platform for International Branches. Additionally legacy London solutions and integrations utilising current and future hardware and software architecture, Data Warehouse, Local HR, Compliance, UK regulatory and global integrations  including for example front office systems, online Banking, payment channels for FBMidas.  Providing hands on support and development for strategic or operational management demands/solutions using multi-level technologies and disciplines covering the whole development lifecycle and other processes.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Functional: (role-related responsibilities)

  • Responsible to understand the business needs and convert those into efficient IT solutions
  • Subject matter expert and functional focal point to business for Run related activities and for business demands/ projects across business lines and functions
  • Reference person for internal team providing guidelines and functional leadership


Technical: (role-related responsibilities)

  • Responsible for technical /architectural evolution of IT portfolio aiming at streamline, sustain and improve the It landscape and processing
  • Responsible for E2E review of technical setup, monitoring and processes to be setup
  • Focal points for technical team as well for business in identification of solution, implementation of demands, clarifications of Infrastructural and Security related topics
  • Responsible to understand the business needs and convert those into efficient IT solutions


Managerial: (people management responsibilities, planning, resourcing, process/ workflow management and improvement, budget responsibilities, etc.)

  • Leading Developers, technical and functional team
  • Support GCC Head in coordinating team daily activities
  • Facilitating clarifications with business
  • Team management and project management
  • Technical project manager for major/crucial initiatives


Organisational: (committee memberships, cross-border projects and interactions, local interactions within the branch, authorities, etc.)

  • Functional and technical focal point of contact for any Global/Cross boarder projects involving Branches ICT Support applications


Canddiate Knowledge:

  • Midas product specialist, including  technical and architectural knowledge around core banking applications
  • Fusion Payment Manager architecture and workflow and processes knowledge / experience
  • Strong Corporate and Investment Banking products knowledge
  • Internal governance and controls framework
  • Excellent understanding of Back Office settlement procedures and applications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience  on Midas/FBMidas and integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of MIDAS Core modules, especially FX/MM, Lending, Securities Trading, FRA/IRS, Futures & Options, Funds Transfer and STP
  • Strong knowledge of Midas account key & postings structure
  • Strong knowledge of cash management products, SWIFT standards, regulatory changes and ISO20022
  • Strong knowledge of iSeries programming and architecture
  • MIDAS support experience across all business areas.
  • Successful Midas upgrade history as part of technical team
  • Strong knowledge of the structure of the FBMIDAS database and Close of Business process
  • Strong technical knowledge

  • Middleware and integration skills, API, SOAP,MQ
  • Compliance application understanding around AML and Sanctions
  • Microsoft Office
