Team

  • As a Firm we are on a journey to double the size of our business by 2020. Growing our advisory business is critical to achieving this and consequently we are placing significant investment in growing this part of our Firm
  • This investment has led to significant growth in our UK Insurance business in recent years and we see significant market opportunities that will enable us to grow further, a key enabler for which is building our team
  • Much of this is driven by business transformation work but we are also looking to maintain a presence in smaller strategic, advisory work
  • We are in the middle of major, truly transformational work at several UK, European and Global clients, and our pipeline is equally strong

Responsibilities:

In your role as a Senior Consultant you will have responsibility for:

  • Leading the facilitation of requirements workshops with business stakeholders to elicit functional, data and user interface requirements
  • Creating Business/Functional Requirements Documents and User Stories to deliver improved business systems with clear, concise, complete and testable requirements
  • Proactively and continuously working closely with business SME's, developers and testers to ensure the solution is built in accordance with the 'Acceptance Criteria' and supporting requirement deliverables
  • Ensuring that all Requirement Deliverables are delivered on time to and to a high quality
  • Identifying, capturing, resolving or escalating risks, issues and assumptions
  • Working effectively as a team member sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress
  • Prioritising objectives and contributing to project planning and status reporting
  • Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with client personnel
  • Building strong internal relationships within Advisory and across other services
  • Contributing to knowledge management within our IT Advisory practice
  • Supervising junior staff and managing parts of client engagements
  • Based on experience leading a scrum team/workstream within a larger programme delivery; pro-actively estimating, planning and monitoring both resource and activities taking into account agreed financial and time constraints and quality/project objectives

Experience:

  • Successful track record in General Insurance or Claims gained through a top tier consultancy, a specialist financial services consultancy and/or a top tier insurer/Claims organisation
  • Track record of successful large transformation programmes for insurance companies
  • Understanding of Requirement Management in Package Enabled Transformation
  • Strong problem solving and design skills
  • Working knowledge of the different SDLC and project management methods such as SAFe, Scrum, Scrumban and Kanban
  • Strong understanding of solution architecture, design patterns and design modelling

Business Analyst skills and experience:

  • Expertise in creating clear detailed Business Requirements Documentation, Use Cases and Functional Specification documents to be used by the technical team to develop in the Core Insurer application
  • Strong understanding of the insurance value chain (from distribution and customer management through to administration - servicing, underwriting & claims management)
  • Experience with analysis of business processes, re-engineering of processes to improve efficiency and quality
  • Good stakeholder management of senior client personnel
  • Good appreciation of current market trends and how these are likely to impact key industry players

Supplementary Skills and experience:

  • Working knowledge of Insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Fadata, SAP Claims Management, TIA, Accenture Claims Components, Duckcreek

  • Ability to develop and deliver high quality output against stated project objectives and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to create and deliver high quality presentations to senior client stakeholders and internal leadership teams
  • Team player who openly supports, encourages and shares knowledge with colleagues
  • Ability to work under limited supervision ('self starter') in unstructured environments
