The Technology Architect is responsible for recommending and defining the technology architecture for the area, i.e., software solutions, technology platform, etc. Accountable for driving excellence in the delivery of technical solutions considering reusability, and non-functional requirements such as performance and security. Able to present and communicate complex architectural issues clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences from senior stakeholders to agile teams Able to assemble a broad set of technologies and services to create a complete solution to a technical requirement: application software, Middleware, database, hardware, storage, network, and integration and leverage of appropriate cloud technologies

The Technology Architect is expected to have a broad range of skills and experience and may be asked to undertake any or all of the following activities:

  • Experience of designing APIs to operate in a (micro) services architectures, ideally using REST
  • Experience of working in an agile development environment and with 3rd party suppliers
  • Assist in the development of new products, product releases and product components for the UK market through the use of appropriate and tailored architecture methods.
  • Understand and manage stakeholder expectations. Support team leads to provide clear choices and recommendations that enable both business and technical decision making.
  • Maintain an expert level of technical knowledge in the required technical areas, and continually research and incorporate new technologies into their domain.
  • Ensure solutions are for purpose and fit for strategy as well as meeting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing and presenting architectural design and proposals to the appropriate review forums
  • Responsible for identifying and documenting key architecture decisions and ensuring these are shared and agreed with other members of the architecture community and engineering teams.
  • Ability to work with domain and technology experts to develop solution from high level architecture to detailed design level.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in respect of the technical aspects of the Commercial Bank Customer, Operations & Regulatory Systems

Mandatory Skills:

We are basically lookin for someone with commercial banking experience preferably middle office and financial crime and risk covering strategy and architecture. You will have a good grasp in this domain and knowledge of microservices and cloud migrations and experience of managing a team of solution architects in this area.
