We are working with a highly reputable International Bank based in the City who are seeking an astute Relationship Manager who can fluently speak French. we are seeking an RM with reputable client relationships with FIs and Corporates selling primarily Trade Finance products.

This role requires you to contribute to business origination in the Francophone Africa region by securing profitable business in-flows, within agreed risk parameters. You will build a sustainable and profitable long-term relationships (Francophone Financial Institutions and Corporates), maximise client profitability across all product groupings.

Responsiblities

  • Acquire, identify and develop new relationships with creditworthy clients to build trusted and profitable relationships.
  • Take charge of and own the overall client relationship spanning all product and service groupings particularly in Cameroon, Niger and Benin.
  • Work closely with our representative offices in Africa and with other Francophone Africa’s RMs.
  • Cooperate with Secondary Market Team to optimize the Francophone TF portfolio
  • Work closely with the Corporates Origination Team in the context of the Two-Client-Approach.
  • Mobilise product areas to ensure the optimum return from existing and new relationships in order to meet the Bank and department’s strategic and annual targets.
  • Exercise day-to-day management of current relationships; act as first line of defence and as primary point of contact for all matters pertaining to the client’s relationship with the bank.
  • Preserve and maintain the credit quality of the client portfolio including the monitoring of facility utilisation and press and internet coverage of counterparties.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with other banks on a regular basis to facilitate inward and outward risk participations leading to increasing market share

Required Experience

  • A strong originator
  • Strong track record in Francophone Africa with solid French and English language skills
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience in the marketing of cross border banking products and services, particularly in Trade Finance and Working Capital.
  • Excellent interpersonal, sales and relationship management skills with a wide range of global contacts.
