A large global bank is bolstering its financial crime team, and has several headcount in the esculations / EDD team.

A financial crime trade finance specialist is sought for a new role in the London branch for a global bank.

As the financial crime trade finance escalations specialist:

  • Review escalation requests and prioritise Trade escalations based on risk, complexity and urgency
  • Liaise with key stakeholders within the business to understand immediate challenges and build on existing relationships
  • Provide support to the TF Escalations Manager’s review of transactions and provision of advice and guidance to support the collation of information required to address the request:
  • Collating internal documentation and reviewing TF Policy, Standards and procedures
  • Analysing regulatory reports, analysing and consolidating the latest regulatory guidance/expectations
  • Tracking and monitor responses to escalations.
  • Work with the Manager to continually review and improve current process and procedures  
  • Manage the provision of summary MI on the status of the escalation team’s activities and identified risks/issues to the Corporate Bank FC MI and KPI analyst for monthly and/or ad-hoc reporting, including trend analyses
  • Promptly and accurately produce regular MI reports on events for senior management to feed into key governance meetings where appropriate
  • Raise internal reports where a potential sanctions link, PEP match, suspicious activity etc. has been identified following the agreed internal escalation and review procedure

The ideal candidate sought for this role will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of Trade Finance (Trade Based Money Laundering)  
  • Knowledge & experience of Trade Finance products including Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Collections Trade Loans
  • Experience of working in the Financial Services industry with knowledge of Corporate banking products and services.
  • Takes a structured risk based approach to the investigation and review of Trade related FC escalations.
  • Good analytical and financial interpretation skills with the ability to convert and consolidate complex data into simple messages and reports
