Investment Operations supports the Private Banking business in Asia, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Latin America. The department develops and manages innovative, secure service solutions to meet clients' needs globally. Developing and using the latest technology, teams work to deliver industry-leading capabilities to clients, making it easy and convenient to do business with the firm. The Role
The principal objective of the Managed Solutions Support team is to provide dedicated and centralized support to the Managed Solutions & Strategies (MSS) investment teams by:
  • Acting as a central point of contact; liaising between the MSS group and key business partners across the organization including Core Ops, Technology, Control functions, the Products team, as well as external vendors.
  • Providing BAU support; assisting with processing tasks across front office teams to help reduce the time spent by Portfolio Managers on non-core activities.
  • Driving process improvement efforts; implementing efficiencies in flows/processes and enhanced controls.
  • Acting as Subject Matter Experts; providing in depth knowledge on systems and processes, managing significant projects and initiatives with a distinct Middle Office/Operations impact.
The teams' role is very broad and will change significantly in the coming years; therefore, the candidate must have the ability to identify and help drive the strategic objectives.
Typical BAU tasks include: trade/system issue resolution, pre- and post-trade breach investigation, fund rule maintenance, collation of manager commentaries and query resolution, answering Portfolio Manager queries.
Typical non-BAU tasks include: process reviews / analysis, process re-engineering & automation, project coordination, UAT testing, defining operating models and risk mitigation.
Profile/Skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proactive approach.
  • Strong ownership with ability to operate in a flexible, dynamic environment where creative and strategic thinking are also required in driving solution, initiatives and projects.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to work under pressure, ability to prioritise and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • The ability to quickly understand complex issues and react effectively. Assumes ownership of problems and drives towards their resolution.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills, ability to work in collaboration building strong rapport with peers and stakeholders.
  • Strong control and risk focus, ability to analyse process and ensure suitable level of controls are in place.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes and drive change to improve team processes to delivery efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Strong data analysis skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel a plus.
  • Operations experience in a financial services role or a similar process led environment desirable.
