A great opportunity to join a growing international trading group based in London as an application support analyst

An ideal candidate will provide tier 2 application support and maintenance to various 3rd party and custom developed trading platforms to our business units.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for providing client-facing and server side support to our different business units.
  • Monitor support tickets, log all support calls, and provide second level support with all applicable upstream, downstream, batch, and trading system needs
  • Identify and resolve technical issues with assigned technical infrastructure hardware, software and work processes
  • Professionally communicate in non-technical terms with stakeholders to troubleshoot application issues, diagnose root causes, and bring issues to resolution
  • Complete service requests in the agreed SLA timeframe
  • Escalate problems beyond level of expertise to manager or more experienced technical staff
  • Contribute to customer “how to” documentation, knowledge base articles, and internal troubleshooting guides
  • Conduct and configure system based monitoring as needed
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the technical aspects of the assigned trading systems
  • Effectively train other team members to serve as backups to the primary assigned trading systems
  • Collaborate with the various IT infrastructure groups, application development teams, and applicable system owners
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvement and automation opportunities
  • Serve as example amungst your peers and take support delivery to the next level

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with Bash, preferably in Python and/or Perl
  • Experience in MS SQL, Oracle, Sybase, or MySQL
  • Experience in monitoring and handling alerts
  • Experience in supporting financial trading platforms with knowledge in any of the following financial products: commodities, futures, securities, foreign exchange
  • Demonstrate ability to work successfully in a cross-functional environment including development, networking, and database
  • Demonstrate the ability to resolve a variety of issues and work with the business in a fast-paced trading environment
  • Ability to work off hours, cover weekend shifts, and global holidays
  • Highly motivated individual and dedicated to providing procedural and technical support within the team and to the business
  • Calm under pressure, able to effectively multitask
  • Experience in providing services to agreed SLA’s
  • Experience working both independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment is essential
