My client is a mid tier specialised lender with a £13Bn balance sheet and a business that focuses on buy to let mortgages, commercial asset based lending and residential development finance. They are an ambitious, well regarded and growing business with a solid business model that has enabled them to continue their growth even during a challenging year for some of their competitors.
This is a newly created role within the treasury function and they are looking for an individual with a solid technical understanding of ICAAP, ILAAP and RRP who can act as a conduit within the department and will take responsibility for overseeing Treasury's contribution to these documents.
The treasury team consists of the liquidity risk team, the market risk team and a dealing team. The role will work across the market and liquidity risk teams and act as subject matter expert across these areas and will report directly into the treasurer. There will likely be more involvement on the liquidity risk side in terms of some of the analysis, but primarily, this role will be responsible for pulling together the loose ends and making sure nothing is missed in the key regulatory documents.
They are open to looking at candidates from a risk management or a treasury function, but what is of vital importance is knowledge of ICAAP, ILAAP and RRP combined with first rate communication skills, both verbal and written. A core component of the role is ensuring senior management are kept informed of any key risks and so the ability to communicate technical subject matter to a non technical audience is vital.
