My client – a large commodities trading firm with a huge global presence and impeccable reputation in the market, is searching for an AVP level professional to join their Treasury/Market risk team here in London. The position will have you at the forefront of risk management and a key member of a tight knit team, giving you exposure unlike most other opportunities. The role requires someone astute with risk control experience (2-4 years), ideally with a background in either operational risk control, treasury audit, market risk or financial risk management.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage quarterly risk forum attended by the Treasury Leadership Team
  • Assess operational risks inherent to Treasury transactions and maintain and oversee SOX controls
  • Support interface with treasury governing bodies (FRMC, RAC)
  • Daily monitoring of group-wide financial exposures
  • Analyse financial risks inherent to group’s financial transactions
  • Support implementation of New Product Approval Process
  • Oversee Treasury Governance Risk and Compliance processes (GRC), anticipating issues and trends effecting Treasury risk profile
  • Act as Subject-Matter-Expert for SOX finance control certification to Group Reporting
  • Facilitate Internal Audits
  • Manage the design and implementation of Treasury risk reporting
  • Update 1SAP processes design within Treasury Risk.

The candidate ideally would have:

  • Graduate qualification in a quantitative discipline
  • Tertiary level qualification in finance or risk
  • Experience in risk management
  • Highly developed presentation and written communication skills
  • High achieving, motivated, positive outlook, enthusiastic and performance driven
  • Willingness to take responsibility and lead outcomes
  • Ability to work autonomously but also works effectively within a team and is a positive contributor
  • 1SAP, Bloomberg and Treasury Management Systems knowledge would be an advantage
