As part of the Client Solutions Group, which consists of product specialists (Rates and Inflation, FX and FX Options, Commodities) and area specialists (Quantitative Analysis, Structured Finance, Real Estate, Debt Capital Markets, M&A), the incumbent will work closely with Financial Market’s Corporate Sales and Capital Markets Sales.

Part of Financial Markets Sales, CSG is located in London, New York and several Asian countries. They work closely with Corporate Sales and Capital Markets in more than 30 locations globally. CSG consists of FM product specialists and area specialists.

Core Responsibilities:

As part of the Client Solutions Group, which consists of product specialists (Rates and Inflation, FX and FX Options, Commodities) and area specialists (Quantitative Analysis, Structured Finance, Real Estate, Debt Capital Markets, M&A), the incumbent will work closely with Financial Market’s Corporate Sales and Capital Markets Sales.  

This position involves the development and advisory of solutions to mitigate financial risks within ING's corporate client base, in the field of interest, currency, and inflation risks and to translate these into concrete hedging or investment transactions.

The incumbent will work closely together with FM’s Corporate Sales teams, mainly within the European time zone in order to identify the aforementioned risks and to develop hedging solutions for Corporate Clients/prospects accordingly.

In addition you will work closely together with colleagues within the Clients division, Structured Finance, Real Estate Finance, Capital Structuring & Advisory, Corporate Finance, and within Trading, Research, and Debt Capital Markets.

The transactions involved range from standard to complex investment or hedging solutions to manage a corporate's financial risks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

You will be responsible for:

  • Designated (commercial) targets;
  • Analysis, development, structuring and marketing hedging and investment solutions (IR, FX, Inflation);
  • Preparing and executing commercial pitches of hedging solutions (mapping the various financial risks, supported by a thorough (quantitative) analysis;
  • Jointly visit Corporate Clients and prospects together with the Corporate Sales account manager;
  • Following up on leads and queries, and acting as a sounding board in the field of hedging solutions to the wider FM community and colleagues within the Clients division, and other business lines like Structured Finance, Real Estate Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Capital Structuring & Advisory and Corporate Finance;
  • Identifying and monitoring market and sector developments and opportunities.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications/Education

A university degree in econometrics, business economics, engineering, and/or CFA or equivalent academics.

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • Significant experience of structuring Financial Markets products, specifically currencies, rates, Libor and commodities, synthetic loans and swaps.
  • Experience with corporate financial risk management, acquired for instance within a corporate treasury environment or a bank’s corporate sales desk, lending or risk management function.
  • Significant experience of client relationship management.

  • Strong negotiation skills (price negotiation, docs negotiation);
  • Strong presentation skills (pitching, presenting);
  • Ability to work on various transactions/projects at the same time, often under pressure, and to prioritize tasks accordingly;
  • Good command of English, both verbally and written;
  • Eager to learn and to share knowledge with colleagues.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of IFRS (IAS39) will be considered a plus.
  • Native speaker of second European language such as Spanish/Portuguese or Dutch.
