The Vice President is expected to be market focussed; providing competitive pricing to all clients, developing and distributing strategies within the context of the strategic business plan as set forth by the MD and Head of Risk & Capital Solutions.

This role develops opportunities to market to an established portfolio of clients as well as actively seeks out new opportunities with prospective clients.  The role is expected to work closely with CBR structuring, Corporate Treasury and Trading Products sales and trading teams in attaining and retaining customer business by providing clients with coverage.  The Vice President is also responsible for the risk, P&L, limits, origination and structuring of transactions.  This person is expected to maximise profit while prudently minimising the bank’s exposure and adhering to regulatory statutes.


  • College or university in Accounting/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics.  MBA optional.  CFA preferred
  • 4-7 years of industry related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Capital Markets, pricing and sales/trading/hedging strategies
  • Familiarity with a variety of field’s concepts, practices and procedures
  • Strong understanding of broader regulatory and financial concepts

Keyy Accountabiliites:

Account Coverage, Client Development and Prospecting
• Provide comprehensive client development as well as actively prospect new clients to increase revenue in the assigned territory
• Provide comprehensive account coverage with well-established sources for business
• Maintain strong relationships with investors, understand their portfolio and match firm services and products to client needs
• Structure and execute capital and risk mitigating trades under the guidance of the Head of R&CS creatively to achieve best execution for the bank and internal/external clients
• Respond to enquiries from clients, regulatory agencies or member of the business community in a professional manner and determine acceptable solutions
• Contact customers to present available investment services and develop client prospects from among current customers, referral leads and other sources

Financial Analysis
• Use abilities in financial analysis to communicate effectively and succinctly with clients
• Develop marketing ideas and help initiate transactions through appropriate presentation of financial data
• Provide clients with highlights and the big picture to facilitate sales or trading

Market Knowledge
• Develop strong market knowledge in order to provide comprehensive service to internal and external clients, develop new solutions and construct compelling recommendations
• Fluency with Bank capital rules and capital relief techniques.  Additional knowledge of insurance capital rules also beneficial
• Read, analyse and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents in order to better serve client needs
• Use analytical skills (probability, statistical inference, concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions) and be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and structure creatively
• In depth knowledge of credit & rates markets, with specialised knowledge of ABS and/or derivative markets

Risk Management
• Responsible for the prudent management of the Bank’s exposure.  Must operate within position and loss limits
• Manage risk related to pricing and sales/trading of the book
• Manage firm’s risk and take action to reduce exposure in developing and delivering client strategies

• Develop and propose structures to improve risk transfer transactions
• Negotiate legal documentation to ensure appropriate coverage and risk transference
