Portfolio Methodology & Analytics team is part of the Wholesale Credit Solutions Group (WCSG) and is responsible for the governance and development of risk grading policies (Obligor Ratings and Credit LGD), analytics projects related to the wholesale portfolio, and other ad-hoc cross-line of business projects.

The ED/VP is expected to effectively manage a team and develop the analytical skills of juniors to drive initiatives

Responsibility
  • As part of the Wholesale Credit Solutions group, the Portfolio Methodology & Analytics team is focused on the governance and development of risk grading policies (Obligor Ratings and Credit LGD), analytics projects related to the wholesale portfolio, and other ad-hoc cross-line of business projects
  • Drive the agenda for risk grading policy development and interpretation, maintain relevant policy documentation, and own issue identification, tracking, and resolution. Assess impact of changes and communicate to stakeholders.
  • In managing the risk grading agenda, collaborate closely with key business partners including Quantitative Research, Global Credit Risk, Basel Measurement & Analytics, Corporate Technology, Basel Review, and Finance teams.
  • Work closely with the modeling teams on new model updates and implementations for risk grading. Support engagement with Model Risk Governance & Review during model reviews.
  • Maintain Financial Based Indicator (FBI) templates and manage engagement with stakeholders in Credit Risk.
  • Perform data analysis to support/review risk grading practices, including the firm's historical wholesale loan data and other vendor datasets.
  • Act as primary liaison for Global Credit Data (GCD) engagement and manage JPM's PD, LGD, and Trade Finance annual data submissions
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of relevant Risk/Capital experience
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills; including the ability to take ownership and work independently while contributing to the broader team
  • Excellent oral, writing, and general communication skills
  • General knowledge of Basel, CCAR, and CECL regulatory frameworks
  • Experience driving large and complex initiatives across multiple functional groups
  • Experience with credit risk / regulatory capital systems infrastructure and data sources (J.P. Morgan preferred) or demonstrated ability to quickly master systems of equivalent scale and complexity
  • Programming skills / knowledge of Python, VBA, SQL is a plus
