This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded, dynamic Workplace Health, Safety & Environment (WHSE) professional to join Macquarie Capital's Principal Finance business in London as a WHSE Manager for the UK and EMEA.
In this role, you will provide technical insight and support to assets and asset managers to ensure that appropriate WHSE policies, programs and procedures have been implemented across our investment portfolio. Key duties include conducting WHSE due diligence, evaluating and improving WHSE management systems, assessing WHSE risks and controls, conducting regulatory research, monitoring health and safety KPIs, investigating serious incidents, and strengthening Macquarie's WHSE values and culture.
You will report to the WHSE director for Macquarie Principal Finance and be responsible for overseeing investments in EMEA, which are primarily centred in the UK. Periodic travel within the region to conduct asset-level site visits and due diligence is required.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have between 6 to 12 years of experience as a WHSE professional in either an internal or external advisory capacity, ideally with some experience in the construction or infrastructure sectors. You will also have or be willing to obtain relevant professional credentials and be familiar with the UK Construction, Design and Management regulations. You should be supported by tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as health and safety, engineering, or environmental science. You will complement this with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence behaviours and outcomes with pragmatic, technically based solutions, and strong personal leadership.
If you are a commercially minded, collaborative WHSE professional looking for a challenging, progressive role in your career, we would like to hear from you.
