Quant Trader / Quant Researcher - electronic FIC Trading team (focus on e-FX). This team are in the build phase with their e-trading platform - with a strong FX SPOT business behind them! This team sit within Trading and are NOT part of the wider quantitative research group. This allows the team to enjoy the upside of running systematic quant trading strategies!!
This role requires a gifted researchers, probably with a PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Operations Research, numerical Computer Scientists, or the like. It’s also important to have some level of applied statistical research background and an interest or curiosity in the financial markets.
This is a remarkable opportunity to join a firm that is now recognised as having one of the strongest Global FX Spot franchises in operation today. Their electronic trading business is still very early on in its development and is now the centre of effort for the bank in the coming years!
This team are well organised, where research staff are encouraged to openly discuss and collaborate with one another (very difference to the siloed QR structures). Research code tend to be written in Python, R but the production environment is Java and C++.
This Global e-trading function is run by highly quantitative (and academic) Traders which creates a very welcome environment for anyone looking for a creative research role where the balance of power is in favour of the quant research group!
