You will take the lead as part of the Strategies & Trading team for for writing and developing the framework for a new generation of pricing and hedging algorithms. You will report directly to the Head of eFX Trading & Strategy. Real potential to develop into a Quant Trading role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role: The Quantitative Developer will be part of the Strategies & Trading team and will be responsible for writing and developing the framework for a new generation of pricing and hedging algorithms. Tasks include working with the team to bring pricing and risk management models to production and the enhancement of software development infrastructure for the team (build system, packaging, testing framework).
Career Potential Strong exposure with trading teams in London but also other global FM trading locations; Scope for work experience in other global ING teams (trading, advanced analytics);Scope for career progression within eTrading and trading functions.
Candidate Profile Experience/Knowledge
Essential: Strong development skills (Java, C++); Experience in developing FX electronic market making trading systems; Flexibility in development technologies. Expected to work with different technologies and languages (Broadway, OneTick, Proprietary Software, Java);
Experience in design and implementation of algorithmic trading systems and development / optimisation of algorithmic trading strategies;
Motivated by trading technology; Strong numerical background - Bachelors or MSc in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Engineering.
Desirable: Ability to easily switch from one project to the other following the change of priorities; Personal Competencies Essential: Hands-on mentality, familiar with Data Analytics, pro-active, used to work with deadlines; ‘Can do’ attitude and positive mind set; Proactive behaviour and perpetual energy and drive to improve performance; Challenger of the status quo, always striving to do things more efficiently and effectively; Genuine team player.
Department Overview: The Financial Markets landscape is changing rapidly due to intensified regulatory requirements. Very liquid products (cash equities, futures, commodities and FX) are highly electronic. Fixed income products (corporate and government bonds) are in process of getting electronic due to balance sheet reduction and regulation. Derivative products are less electronic but will be included in MIFID II trading mandate regulation. The foundation for the FM eTrading team is based on 4 important cornerstones (client, data, connectivity and innovation). These cornerstones are important key areas, where focus and dedicated projects and resources have contributed to the creation of a FM eTrading team. The FM eTrading team is organised in 4 core groups; Strategies & Trading, Business Intelligence, Product Management and Client Management.
