We are looking for talented and experienced Infrastructure Engineers with a Networks and Communications background to help BPDTS with an initial assignment to operations and projects for the Mobility team. You will lead the design and specification of the network infrastructure to ensure the security, availability and integrity of the Groups processing and communications capability.

You and your role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Networks and Communications) who can ensure the smooth transition of new network infrastructure technologies from design to production in order to help prevent interruptions to the services delivered.

You will be part of an energetic team, transforming the solutions and services offered to over 10,000 mobile device users in the department.

As Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will be expected to lead and mentor others, provide 3rd line support where necessary, drive innovation and efficiency, and work collaboratively across teams to provide integrated high quality services to our customer.

The model of assignment means, that over time and subject to business needs there will be opportunities to undertake varied roles across different delivery areas, and you will be supported in developing your skills within networking and more broadly.

What are we looking for?

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems across multiple technology domains, including Private and Public cloud network environments.
  • Cisco CCIE/CCNP/CCDP certification or equivalent experience / skills.

We're also looking for significant experience and successful track record of design, build and operations of network services in large scale organisations, specifically in the areas of:

  • Designing secure high availability Hybrid Cloud connectivity solutions (inc AWS & Azure).
  • Complex OSPF and BGP routing designs.
  • Designing Enterprise Network Services, e.g. DNS, DHCP & NTP.
