Advisory Service Delivery Cyber Security Manager

Market leading growth in our Advisory Service Delivery team has created opportunities for new people to join the team, working in our Newcastle Service Delivery Centre . Cyber security issues are a key concern in the business world currently, with technical advances arising every day. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in helping financial service clients to improve their cyber security operations and give them the assurance they need to operate their business successfully and safely.

The Opportunity

The Advisory Service Delivery team is one of EY's fastest growth areas and we are based in a modern office in Newcastle city centre. We have an excellent opportunity for a Cyber Security Manager to join our Newcastle team. In this role you will be providing technical advice on Cyber Security related topics and insights on latest market trends to our FS clients, which will include providing technical advice on related topics and insights on latest market trends. You would be playing a key role in helping clients to improve their cyber security operations. Your Key Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security Manager in our Advisory Service Delivery team, you will be working with global EY teams to deliver high quality work to our clients, which will primarily be from the financial sector. You will help our clients gain comfort by using your technical knowledge of Cyber Security risks and controls. You will actively improve operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives, in line with EY's commitment to quality. Your role will require you to lead teams on a range of Cyber Security engagements, supporting clients to design and assess the effectiveness of their Cyber Security mechanisms.

Client Responsibilities:


  • Lead and deliver client engagements

  • Mobilisation of project teams and design of the processes to be followed

  • Support engagement management activities such as finance tracking, billing, resource management

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel, whilst building strong internal relationships within Advisory and across other services

  • Preparing bids and proposals for new projects and client opportunities

  • Preparing reports and outputs that will be delivered to clients and other parties



People Responsibilities:


  • Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff

  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff

  • Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training professionals

  • Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills

  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures



Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong knowledge and experience of a number of the following; Information Security, architecture design and implementation, security assessments, Identity and Access Management, Third Party Risk Management and IT Controls Testing
  • Client service delivery and experience managing multiple engagements and teams
  • Awareness of National and International security standards
  • Creative, independent with good problem-solving skills
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Project management skills, preferably with accreditation, for example: ITIL, PRINCE2, PMI, MSP
  • Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment

To qualify for the role you must have


  • A strong academic background to degree level or equivalent experience in a directly related role

  • A related professional certification, for example; CISSP, CISM, CISA

  • Solid IT and/or technology background


Ideally, you'll also have


  • Experience and understanding of Financial Services

  • Experience of coaching or mentoring junior team members
