Our Test engineers build automated test solutions that help to assure the quality of design and delivery of products and services used by millions of people. There has never been more demand on DWP's online services than right now, and our Test community is doing vital work in making sure our users have robust, and reliable access to the support and services they need.

We're a huge organisation so you'll have chance to work on a range of projects and technologies.

Initially though will be primarily responsible for testing functional and business requirements through innovative use of Unified Functional Test (UFT) tool and Visual Basic.

You will also be responsible for the design and build of the technical setup and working methods for continuous integration, delivery and deployment practices with test.

An awareness of performance and accessibility methodologies and tools such as LoadRunner, JAWS, Dragon, Zoomtext and Read Write gold will really help.

You'll need the skills, knowledge and experience to:

• Build and deliver comprehensive, robust and reliable automated test frameworks and automation suites via UFT and Visual Basic to provide full coverage of business requirements.
• Design, build and maintain an effective test infrastructure.
• Understand the latest technical test tools and where it would be beneficial to apply them.
• Review the test suite and update the code base to reflect current best practices and reduce technical debt.
• Communicate with other teams and share technical resources, knowledge and lessons learned.
• Ensure that usability, accessibility, security, stability and capacity are embedded in the development of citizen services.
