What we’re building  

We now need a Programme Manager role to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Strategic Programmes function, so it can deliver complex and high-risk change initiatives, and achieve targeted business outcomes through close collaboration with the business.

Job summary

Work with all key stakeholders to manage the pipeline of initiatives, support the creation of business cases for proposed projects and deliver complex programmes of work, involving multiple work streams, to achieve desired business outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • To undertake robust and independent evaluation of potential initiatives, assisting key stakeholders in understanding the work and impacts on the business to deliver the initiative, and any likely interdependencies with other initiatives.
  • To assist business units construct robust Business Cases prior to submission to the Business Design Authority and other governance committees, as appropriate.
  • To plan, structure and lead large programmes of work that involve multiple project streams and deliver the desired business outcomes.
  • To ensure the UK Executive is kept informed of progress against the strategic programme delivery plan.
  • To be a flexible resource enabling the Division to adapt its services and deliver maximum benefits for the business.

Who you are

  • Good understanding of the organisation, key business drivers and measures
  • Significant project / programme management experience in a wide range of business areas and demonstrated success of delivering complex project assignments.
  • High degree of knowledge and experience in stakeholder relationship management at a senior level.
  • Experience of managing multiple parties including third party suppliers.
  • Good understanding of project budgetary control and financial management
  • Experience in resource allocation and management
  • Ability to maintain a high level view of the desired business outcomes with the experience to anticipate risks and plan mitigating actions
  • Good leadership skills and the ability to manage change with a proactive and enthusiastic approach
  • Good communicator at all levels and an ability to manage difficult people
