Canada Life are recruiting for a senior actuarial analyst to join our Potters Bar team on a 12 month fixed term contract

What we’re building: 


We now need a Senior Actuarial Analyst to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Finance division, so it can be a trusted and commercial partner that influences the business to make good financial decisions, by delivering excellent support, expertise and high quality Management Information.


Job summary:


The Senior Actuarial Analyst supports business change:
•Productionising actuarial reporting metrics
•Process improvements
•Development of the actuarial reporting infrastructure
•Providing support for data, modelling systems and reporting
•Develop EUCs and Documentation
•Collaborates with key stakeholders across Finance to achieve our goals


What you’ll do


•Take a lead role in improving the effectiveness of our processes, both with regard to efficiency of use and risk of errors occurring.
•Analyse the existing reporting requirements, propose and implement changes.
•Producing specifications for model developments for our model developers and testing the results to ensure they meet our customer requirements
•Integrating developments efficiently into our regular model runs to minimise additional work for the dedicated production modelling team
•Developing EUC tools for assumption table production and reports on results (to EUC standards).
•Producing process notes, documentation and training Modelling team members
•Provide day to day support to all users and developers of data and modelling systems in line with best practices for service management.

 

Who we are looking for:


•Experience of running Prophet and working in an Actuarial reporting environment at senior student level
•Enthusiastic and confident approach to new challenges with an aptitude to learn and make a difference
•Curiosity and tenacity to explore beyond the immediate circumstances to identify further improvements
•Drive to develop technical expertise and awareness of the business
•Ability to collect, interpret and analyse data to identify and comment on variances and trends in business performance data
•Graduate with excellent communication and strong problem solving skills
•Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
•Ability to work in an organised and efficient way as part of a team towards targets.
•Ability to manage and prioritise multiple workloads under pressure
•Able to work with people across all levels
