We now need a Senior fund Administrator, to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Finance function, so it can be a trusted and commercial partner that influences the business to make good financial decisions, by delivering excellent support, expertise and high quality Management Information.
 
Job Summary

The role is within the Investment Operations area of the Investment Financial Services Department, which provides professional Investment Services to multiple clients with Assets under administration of approx. £35bn.
Reporting into the Unit Pricing Supervisor, the role will not have any direct reports but is responsible for performing and overseeing the business critical, highly regulated day to day Unit Linked Pricing tasks.  
 
What you will be doing


Tasks include but are not limited to -

  • Unit Linked Fund NAV/Pricing and validation including price publication
  • Collating fund cash flows for the Front Office
  • Collateral Management
  • Custody cash and stock reconciliations including making journals as necessary
  • Maintaining and developing KPI’s and MI
  • Working on small change projects and larger Company driven initiatives by applying subject matter expertise
  • Performance individually of, as well as the oversight of the team in relation to the above tasks

 
Success in the job will be evidenced by contributions to, and leadership of, day to day operational performance and KPI’s (e.g. Timely Publication of Unit Prices, minimal business errors / Losses etc.) as well as contributions to Continuous Process Improvement.
 
Who you are

  • Relevant Unit Pricing experience ideally servicing Unit Linked business but fund NAV pricing experience within Collective Investment Schemes will be considered.
  • Experience of performing unit price validation to a level where candidates can explain and/or correct any fund price validation differences and confidently sign off the fund prices without errors for release to the market.
  • Experience of managing and controlling complex processes to meet deadlines, in a sometimes-high pressure environment.
  • Experience of contributing to and working on change projects, both large and small.
  • Able to discuss detailed and technical issues with senior investment personnel with confidence.
  • Demonstrably high level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Broad working knowledge of the investment operations back office.
  • An understanding of basic accounting principles with strong numeric and system skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team working / motivational skills
  • Proactive and logical approach to continuous improvement initiatives, problem solving & managing issues.
  • Ability to learn and understand processes with a view to identifying issues and minimising impacts to the team and the wider department.
  • Able to effectively train team members at varying levels of development 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adjust to fluctuating work volumes (including delegation when required)
  • Ability to work independently; candidates should be proactive using initiative and demonstrating commitment to getting the job done and take personal responsibility for achieving results

 
Essential Qualifications:
 

  • 5 GCSE’s A-C including Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • IOC Exams (ACSI) or qualified by experience

 
Ideal Qualifications:
 

  • Educated to degree level
  • Part qualified to CIMA certificate, ACCA Fundamentals level or equivalent

 
 
We are looking for an individual with the required Unit Pricing experience who can apply the knowledge they already hold in order to perform the unit pricing processes and oversee the junior members of the team and ensure all tasks are completed by the team within the necessary deadlines and to the high standards of quality required.
 
This is a role that will require the ability to work flexibly, given the responsibilities bestowed to the job holder, in order to complete each day’s unit pricing process without fail.
