Corporate and Asset Finance Group - Junior Lawyer

Corporate and Asset Finance Group - Junior Lawyer

An excellent opportunity, in a challenging legal role, within our Macquarie Corporate and Asset Finance business, based at our operations hub in Reading.

As a Junior Lawyer, you will work closely alongside business unit management and a high-performing legal team, playing a key role in providing integrated legal support to the business' various asset finance activities in the UK. You will review and draft leases and other finance agreements, take ownership of precedent documentation, liaise with central risk management functions, including Credit, Tax, Operations and Compliance, assist in developing internal polices, instruct and manage external counsel and advisers, work closely with the business to assist in the development of new products, review and contribute to internal credit and related approval papers, and ensure compliance with the regulatory environment and applicable group policies and procedures.

You will have 1-2 years' post qualification experience in a law firm with a particular focus on asset finance/leasing (or similar experience gained in-house), be able to deliver pragmatic legal advice to non-lawyers and have experience (or a good awareness) of the regulatory environment facing businesses like Macquarie Corporate and Asset Finance and the responsibilities firms owe customers and regulators.

Frequent travel to London (possibly 1-2 days a week) will be an essential requirement.
