Consumer Business (CB), covering Food & Beverage, Retail, THL and FMCG is one of Deloitte’s core global industries. The sector continues to see significant M&A activity and on the back of number of deals completed in the space, the Deloitte team is actively looking to grow its CB M&A practice.

Consumer Business (CB), covering Food & Beverage, Retail, THL and FMCG is one of Deloitte’s core global industries. The sector continues to see significant M&A activity and on the back of number of deals completed in the space, the Deloitte team is actively looking to grow its CB M&A practice.

Your role

Deloitte Advisory Corporate Finance provides corporates, private equity houses and other clients with a full suite of M&A services advising on acquisitions, divestments, buy-outs and capital raisings, a significant number of which are cross-border or international in nature.

You will have responsibility for:

• Working on a range of buy-side and sell-side transactions
• Day-to-day management of transactions which includes preparation of information memoranda, management presentations, and taking responsibility for preparation of information and client communications
• Industry research for both deal origination and transaction analysis
• Valuation work and Financial modelling, including DCF and LBO analysis
• Contribution to marketing and business development opportunities
• Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Location: We are considering people to be based in either one of our Bristol, Reading or London offices. There will be occasional domestic and international travel.

Suggested work pattern: Permanent full-time with an opportunity for some home working.

Your professional experience

To qualify for the role you must have:
• Excellent numeracy skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb and analyse large amounts of data quickly
• Client focus, with ability to build rapport and establish effective working relationships
• Enthusiasm for the Consumer Business sector
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Logical and methodical approach to problem solving
• Project management and organisational skills
• Ability to undertake detailed financial/commercial analysis for inclusion in client reports
• The self-confidence/appetite to be involved in business development activities
• Ability to develop, coach and motivate junior members of the team
• Excellent academics with strong A-level results (or equivalent)

Additional Desirable Experience includes:
• ACA/ CFQ or equivalent qualification
• Previous corporate finance experience
• Previous exposure to the Consumer Business sector
