Societe Generale (SG) has formed a single IT Infrastructure function Global Technical Services (GTS) to be responsible for delivery of infrastructure services across the entire SG group.

RESG/GTS/INF: The team provide infrastructure services to Kleinwort Hambros, related to Servers, Storage and Backup solutions. The server infrastructure is a mix of Physical and Virtual, each with a mix of Windows and Unix operating systems. Our Backup solutions consist of a Data Domain and Symantec Netback Up.


  • The IT Systems team operates as a service to the other IT teams and the business to provide 2 nd /3 rd level support for the server/systems infrastructure.
  • The role of the Windows Systems Engineer is to provide in depth knowledge and expertise in supporting Windows Systems for Jersey, Gibraltar and Guernsey. Deliver and build systems according to system requirements and project timescales.
  • As the Systems Engineer, ensure standard operating procedures are followed in the team and raise alerts where necessary
  • Provide the technical direction in terms of architecture of our infrastructure
  • Evolve the BAU Support as per the SSB strategy
  • BAU Support â€" servers, storage, hypervisor
  • Backups/Restores
  • Monitoring of systems
  • Capacity planning and management
  • Providing technical guidance to projects as required
  • Attending global technology based meetings
  • Providing recommendations for service improvement
  • Providing recommendations for technology improvement
  • Working with the Architecture and project teams to implement new technologies or improvements
  • Work on projects that require the implementation of systems that run on this platform.
  • Provide pro-active recommendations on areas for improvement and take ownership of this technology for Kleinwort Hambros. Share knowledge with other members of the SSB team.
  • Provide support for other systems and escalate to the relevant technical expert within the team .
