Workday Test & Release specialist
The Workday Integrations support specialist provides expertise in IT test design and execution with the aim of removing failures in use. The role is responsible for the end-to-end test process for all assigned Change to Production for Workday ensuring adherence to the testing strategy, quality framework and methodology.

About the role
  • Coordinate, prepare and manage the major (code and config) releases or Workday & Coupa
  • Proactively provide input to improve the test management strategy that will ensure effective and efficient testing
  • Collaborate across the ERP support team and HR/Finance/Procurement functions to develop and execute test plans
  • Implementation of regression testing for periodic releases
  • Measure effectiveness of testing to identify improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate change board activity
Community of Practice
  • Adheres to the testing strategy, quality framework and methodology defined in the Test Engineering and QA Community of Practice standards, ensuring consistency, optimisation, continuous improvement and best practice are embedded in testing processes.
  • Inputs into the continuous improvement of current and future Testing processes and maintains awareness of industry trends.
  • Ensures key Testing principles and requirements for the SDLC are maintained
  • Contributes to raising awareness and understanding of the Testing and Quality Assurance function, framework and policies.
  • Test Planning and Execution
  • Analyses software requirements to write and execute comprehensive, thorough and effective test scripts and regression packs in order to verify the quality of new or enhanced software releases.
  • Develops technical documents to accurately represent the test suite. Executes tests in accordance with test frameworks and governance to drive precise and detailed testing expected outcomes.
  • Estimates test case build and execution effort to support detailed test planning for releases.
  • Reports outcomes of tests, analyses and manages defects through to closure.
  • Escalates impediments to Team Manager/Lead and Project Management.
  • Facilitates demos of the stories/functions in test for business owner sign off.


About you
Qualifications: (Desirable)
  • Workday Pro certification
  • ISTQB- Foundation Level Certified Tester.
  • Foundation Level Agile Tester.
  • Foundation Level Acceptance Testing.
  • Foundation Level Usability Testing.
  • Foundation Level Mobile Application Testing.
  • Agile Practitioner

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Direct experience of working in a similar role, supporting Workday Testing
  • Testing IT projects through to completion, resulting in delivery of robust and high-quality applications.
  • Building Test Plans and Test Scripts.
  • Experience with functional and non-function testing tools e.g. Selenium, UFT, Cucumber, Performance Centre, Gatling, JMeter.
  • Defect tracking tools.
  • Experience in test data management and SQL.
  • Good experience of test management tools such as ALM.
  • Proven software testing experience including the implementation of smoke tests, unit tests or Pester tests as well as exploratory testing/alerting.
  • Experience in working with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Understanding of industry best practice and trends together with their application within a business context.
  • Must be passionate about DevOps and have a resilient attitude in pushing the DevOps perspective.
