Provide governance, assurance and operational support which ensures the successful delivery of Change initiatives across M&G. Working with key stakeholders across M&G using specialist skills. Focusing on adherence to M&G methodologies and processes by tracking, maintaining, reporting and escalating resource demand, financial and change delivery information.
Provide specialist and proactive role in embedding the M&G change methodologies, ensuring portfolio, programmes, projects and interdependencies are managed strategically, reporting anomalies and/or areas of concern to senior management. Leads and directs others applying the competences and guide less experienced staff.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity which will begin working remotely and can then have a blended work pattern between home and our offices in Edinburgh or Stirling.

Key Work Level Responsibilities
Manager or Expert:
  • For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders
  • For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk
  • Manages conflicts that may impact delivery
  • Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
  • Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output
  • Manages resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience

Key Responsibilities for this role:
Change Delivery
  • Support key change delivery stakeholders in managing delivery of the overall Change agenda in line with M&G Change Methodology
  • The ability to independently establish and maintain governance structures that define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for governance and delivery of change initiatives and that align with organisational practice
  • The ability to establish and manage reviews independently at important points during and after change implementations which will inform governance of change initiatives by providing evaluations of progress, methodologies and continuing relevance
  • Design, implement and oversee regular reporting mechanism for projects , programmes, portfolios - ensuring the right level of quality is achieved across projects and workstreams and included at relevant management/governance forums
  • The ability to independently establish protocols to alter the scope of change initiatives when necessary and updating configuration documentation including contracts
  • Working autonomously, the ability to define planning standards for Portfolio, Programmes and projects (for specialist roles)
  • The ability to autonomously consolidate and manage plans covering the fundamental components of a change initiative (Programme / Portfolio)
  • Facilitate assurance reviews and health checks to help stakeholders focus on delivering the programme or project successfully
  • Independent provision of critical analysis to provide the appropriate level of insight e.g. MTP and QBR planning

Commercial:
  • The ability to provide insight, challenge and manage budgets for portfolios, programmes and projects
  • The ability to facilitate the creation, signoffs and ongoing management of Business Cases
  • The ability to support the identification, definition and assurance of business benefits aligned with the M&G strategy
  • The ability to facilitate the creation, signoff and ongoing management of contractual agreements (SoW)
  • The ability to support relevant processes and information relating to the management of M&G delivery Partners

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Experience and knowledge of change methodologies e.g. MSP, Prince 2 , Agile
  • Knowledge of finance-related IT technologies and prior experience of similarly complex programs essential
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector, including understanding / experience of IFRS17
  • Experience and knowledge of Portfolio, Programme and Project management offices(e.g. P3O, MOP)
  • Detailed understanding of risk management frameworks
  • Experience and knowledge in Microsoft application packages
  • Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and facilitation skills
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring less experienced team members and Technology & Change
  • Experience of cost control and management for change initiatives
  • Experience of contracts processes and resource management
  • Demonstrates leadership capabilities with the aptitude to initiate and embed change
  • Excellent communicator who can build teams and create partnerships with all business units
  • Strong influencing, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Positive with a willingness to learn
  • Self-starter with business acumen
