Department Description

Fidelity's UK Financial Services business manages or administers £70bn of customers' assets. Purpose of your role

Fidelity has an extensive client event programme across its Wholesale, FundsNetwork™ and PI distribution channels. The Events Management Team is an important shared service that supports the growth ambitions of these channels.

The primary purpose of your role will be to take responsibility for end-to-end management of events across these client-facing channels. This will involve close interaction and dealings with business management, sales and marketing teams and external suppliers. Depending on the nature of the event, this may include very senior stakeholders.

You will be able to work autonomously, with minimum supervision. The role will require significant flexibility in order to physically attend events - from time to time these will not be within standard working hours.

Given that event management requires specialist skills, the Marketing Events Manager may also be called upon to provide consultancy and guidance on event best-practice to the wider business, including support for corporate and employee events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive events programme which supports the UK Business, including but not limited to:
  • Management and organisation of events, including planning, budgeting, invoice review & settlement
  • Determining project requirements; scheduling and managing each event from inception to the hands-on management of the event itself. This includes full responsibility for the invitation process, delegate management and post event follow-up as required
  • Supplier management, including but not limited to supplier selection, negotiating contracts, booking and sourcing venues and hiring equipment
  • Manage and develop relationships with key stakeholders across the UK Business including Sales and Marketing Heads, Investment Directors and Fund Managers
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, and security regulations
  • Co-ordinate & prioritise resource / appropriate expertise to assist in the organisation of all events
  • Provide logistics support to Fund Managers & other speakers (itinerary, travel, chaperone etc)
  • Work with Heads of Marketing / Senior Marketing Managers (as appropriate) to project manage the timely delivery of supporting event materials (e.g. creative themes, stage-sets, presentations, supporting collateral, speaker sign-off, compliance sign-off and other components as required)
  • Manage the production of presentations and other required outputs
  • Put in place and ensure the effective use of robust processes to co-ordinate production, modification and technical and compliance approval of presentations and other materials.
  • Ensure management information is collected and reported to stakeholders to evaluate effectiveness
  • Support others in the team to maintain high delivery standards.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Proven record of managing large-scale corporate events
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to take personal responsibility for the management of multiple large-scale events
  • Experience in creating and managing comprehensive event plans, schedules and large budgets
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to forge effective relationships across the marketing, sales and Investment teams, including senior management
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, make decisions and work under pressure
  • Knowledge of Fidelity products and organisational structure
  • 3rd party relationship and supplier management skills, including negotiation skills with contractors and external providers
  • Strong IT skills and analytical & reporting ability
  • Knowledge of Marketo (marketing automation tool) - desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Anaplan (finance budgeting system) - desirable but not essential
  • Strong digital mind-set
  • Compliance knowledge and understanding of UK financial services industry regulations
